The CounterBalance Trust has selected the Bobs For Good Foundation as the cause to be supported by our Freedom Revolution Tour.
In South Africa today, there are over 7 million children who have never owned or worn a pair of school shoes. Sadly, these vulnerable learners have become accustomed to walking on the rough African terrain with bare feet, weathering the cold earth beneath them and the enduring embarrassment from their classmates. Why should any child have to suffer this humiliation and indignity?
The Bobs for Good Foundation is a South African non-profit organisation born out of the need to restore dignity and pride to South Africa’s neediest learners by giving them a gift of hope – a pair of quality leather, locally-made school shoes to care for and call their own.
Founded by former Springbok captain, Bob Skinstad, and his lifelong friend Ron Rutland, the Bobs for Good Foundation employs a dynamic team of changemakers who work with like-minded partners and private donors to ensure that South Africa’s neediest children will one day walk tall in a brand new pair of school shoes donated by the foundation.
