Our Tour
OK. Here it is. Three unicyclists will ride more than 2,500km from Umhlanga Lighthouse, north of Durban, to Mouille Point Lighthouse in Cape Town, starting in November. Wait. That's not all. They will ride almost all of that distance off-road. Yes. That's not a mistake. OFF-ROAD. On unicycles. Impressed? You should be.
What, you think they're crazy? No argument. So why would Alan Read, Donna Kisogloo and Johnny Cronje pedal themselves through that much pain and torture? Because they want to make a difference. This they will do by raising awareness and funds for Bob Skinstad's Bob's For Good Foundation, which works hard to put shoes on the feet of South African schoolchildren who have always walked barefoot to school.
This CounterBalance ride will be supported by The Freedom Challenge, an annual mountain bike event which uses the route and will provide logistical assistance.
